How it works
- Step 1
Your staff use slash commands
Warn, timeout, kick, ban, purge and slowmode. Type a slash and Discord shows each command and what it needs. Or right-click a member, choose Apps and pick Warn, Timeout, Kick, Ban or Quarantine.
- Step 2
Every action becomes a case
Each one is saved with a number, who did it, who it was done to and why. Bans and kicks count towards each moderator's anti-nuke limit, and timeouts have a limit of their own, so a stolen staff account can't mass ban through Bastion.
- Step 3
Warnings add up
3 warnings earn a timeout of 1 hour. 5 warnings earn a kick. You decide the steps.
Numbers shown are the defaults on the Balanced level.
What you can change
You don't have to change anything. If you want to, here are the settings and what each one starts as.
Warn steps
Up to 5 steps. Each one says how many warnings lead to a timeout, kick or ban.
Starts as: 3 warnings: timeout. 5 warnings: kick
Tell people when they are punished
Sends the member a private message saying what happened and why.

Moderator roles
Up to 15 roles allowed to use the moderation commands.

Staff tiers
Give a role some commands without giving it all of them. Helpers can warn and time out. Senior staff can also ban. Up to 10 tiers.

Staff PIN
Asks a moderator for their own 6 digit PIN before dangerous commands such as ban, kick, softban, lockdown, big purges and mass cleanups. A stolen account doesn't know it. Owner only. Pro.

Temporary bans and softbans
Give /ban a length and Bastion lifts it on time. /softban removes someone and clears their recent messages, and they can rejoin.

Clean unreadable names
Swaps a name nobody can read or mention for a readable one, when someone joins or changes their name. Bastion's role needs the Manage Nicknames permission for this.

Your own appeal questions
Replace the one box on the appeal form with up to 6 questions of your own. Pro.

Ask before banning or kicking
Adds an Are you sure? step to /ban and /kick, with Confirm and Cancel buttons.

Hide which moderator did it
The message sent to the punished member doesn't name the moderator.

Timeout length when none is given
Used when /timeout is run without a length.
Starts as: 1 hour
Messages removed on a ban
How many days of the member's messages /ban deletes when no number is given. 0 to 7.

Points for one warning
Warn steps count points. A moderator can give a serious warning up to 20.

Shorter replies from Bastion
Bastion answers the moderator with one short line.

Let members report messages
Members right-click a message, choose Apps, then Report to moderators. Staff get a post with buttons to delete the message, time the author out for an hour or dismiss it.

Accept appeals
Banned and timed-out people are sent a link, sign in with Discord and write why it should be lifted. Staff approve or deny with one press. After a denial they wait 7 days.
