Discord verification bot
FreeA Discord verification bot with no QR codes
New members see one channel with a Verify button. They press it, pass a quick check, and get your member role. Bots and scripts get stuck at the door.
Stops: Automated accounts.
How it works
- Step 1
New members see one channel
Your normal channels are hidden from them. The one channel they can see has a Verify button.
- Step 2
They press Verify
They pass a quick check, which can be a 5 character code shown as a picture. It all happens privately inside your server.
- Step 3
They get your member role
The role opens up the rest of the server. Bots and scripts stay stuck at the door.
Numbers shown are the defaults on the Balanced level.
What you can change
You don't have to change anything. If you want to, here are the settings and what each one starts as.
Verification
Switches the whole thing on or off. It needs a channel and a role first.
Starts as: Off
Check
Type a short code, just press a button, or open a page on Bastion's site and press one button there.
Starts as: Type a short code
Look for second accounts
With the web page check, spots people who verify from the same device or connection as another account, and treats a match with a banned member as ban evasion. No IP address is ever stored. Pro.
Starts as: Off
VPNs, proxies and Tor
With the web page check, compares each member's connection with public lists, then lets them in, tells staff, asks them to turn it off or kicks them. Pro.
Starts as: Let them in
Who has to verify
Everyone who joins, or only accounts that look like throwaways. Ordinary-looking accounts then get the role straight away.
Starts as: Everyone who joins
After three wrong answers
Let them try again after a minute, kick them or ban them.
Starts as: Let them try again after a minute
How the code looks
4 to 8 characters, made of letters, numbers or both, with or without lines and stray marks, in a colour you choose. Pro.
Starts as: 5 characters, letters and numbers
Verification channel
Where the Verify button lives.
Starts as: Not set
Role to give when they pass
A plain member role, below Bastion's role and with no staff powers. Bastion refuses anything else.
Starts as: Not set
Kick people who do not verify
Kicks new members who haven't verified in time. They can rejoin and try again. Pro.
Starts as: Off
Give them
How long a new member has before that kick. 1 to 1440 minutes.
Starts as: 10 minutes
